Cell Cycle, Mitosis & Meiosis

The growth of every thing requires the continual addition of cells, repair of cells and creation of specialty cells. No matter the complexity or simplicity of a living cell they all share some very similar behaviors during these divisonal phases.

1. The Cell Cycle...most cells follow a certain number of steps in order to allow for all teh above mentioned events to occur.
2. Mitosis...a process within the cell cycle that duplicates cells and keeps their genetics identical to its original
3. Meiosis...a process used to produce special cells (gametes) in order to allow the proper number of chromosomes to passed on to a new individual.
